The French Class provides comprehensive language courses and services to learn and/or improve your French, explore the culture, prepare for a trip, and meet new people!
Grammaire et Conversation
This class is designed to improve listening and speaking skills for levels A1 -C2. Students will improve sentence structure with a focus on proper use of grammar and syntax through a variety of activities and themes (i.e. French travel, news, cinema, history, geography,…) The instructor will use methods based on videos, structured dialogues, conversation, individual presentations, grammar exercises and reading comprehension.
Phonétique
French pronunciation is one of the most challenging aspects of learning French for many students. This class is designed to help students provide a concise introduction to the sound system of French and the main features that characterize its pronunciation. Students will practice with easy and difficult consonant sounds as well as with the range of vowel and nasal sounds. Students will learn to distinguish silent letters, ‘liaisons’, echaînements, and to pronounce the French ‘e’.
Grammaire et Civilisation Francophone: Afrique
Every week we travel virtually to Francophone Africa! In this class students will discover the vast French-speaking regions of Africa, its history, its culture, and its people through the language. Students will reinforce their knowledge of French grammar and practice both oral and written skills through socio-cultural themes.
Drop-In French
Sip wine while you learn to introduce yourself, meet and greet others in French in a comfortable and social setting. In this class you will have an opportunity to learn the basics or enrich your current skills and meet others interested by French.
French for Travelers
Learn some essential French before traveling to France or a French-speaking country. In this class, students will learn to ask for directions, make hotel reservations, order meals and much more.
E-Tutoring
Provides on demand French homework help and tutoring services that connect students to The French Class instructor online.
Translation
Professional French translation service. The French Class translates all types of documents, such as legal, marketing, technical, employee handbooks and more.
Corporate Workshops
Caters to professional individuals and/or groups with custom designed classes using relevant communication strategies to perform in the world of Francophone business. Classes can be held either at your office or at the Ruth Page Center location.
Private
The French Class provides private one-on-one and semi-private instruction with the instructor. Start at any time and benefit from flexible scheduling and personalized instruction.
Excursion - Voyage au Senegal
What about spending Spring in a magical place, improving your French and your knowledge about Senegal, Africa! This excursion gives students the opportunity to discover a wonderful and safe country in West Africa with the best and knowledgeable guides. Combining comfort at night and unique excursions during the day, you would never experience such a "voyage" if you were going there by yourself.
